Beyond Large Production Runs: Our Expertise in Complex, One-Off Projects

At Applied Powdercoat, our talented team offers a wide range of services tailored to meet various needs, from high-volume production runs to smaller batch projects.

  • High-volume metal finishing services: One key aspect of our capabilities involves working with metal fabrication houses that handle large production runs. These typically involve sheet metal and industrial requirements, where multiple items are produced in high volumes. Our conveyor system is designed to handle these projects efficiently. We can powder coat a wide array of products in rapid succession, ensuring consistent quality and quick turnaround times.

  • Batch work for larger, specialized parts: On the other end of the spectrum, we also specialize in batch work for larger, more customized parts. This is where we cater to those who need smaller production runs or one-off projects, including classic car aficionados and home contractors. Our batch system allows us to powder coat these more complex parts with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring they look as good as new.

We’d like to highlight a segment of our business that we don’t talk about enough, the work we handle for automotive restoration and home improvement. Whether you’re working on a classic car or need industrial-grade powder coating to get your patio furniture looking brand new again, we have the equipment and expertise to get the job done.

Automotive Restoration

Our location in Southern California makes us well-suited for classic car restoration, a field that thrives in our region due to the warm climate all year round. Whether you’re restoring a vintage car or upgrading your motorcycle, we offer powder coating services that give your vehicle a durable, chip-resistant finish. Powder coating is ideal for rims, frames, bumpers, skid plates, and more.

And when you work with Applied Powdercoat, the world is your oyster when it comes to color choices–we match or customize any shade to meet your design preferences!

Home Improvement and Residential Work

We also provide powder coating services for contractors working on housing and residential projects. These individuals often brind us items such as oven doors, office furniture, patio sets, and more for a durable, long-lasting finish that makes outdoor and indoor furniture look brand new again.

For instance, beachside homes in California often experience rusted patio furniture due to the salty air. Our team applies an epoxy base coat followed by a top coat to create a strong bond that resists further rust and corrosion. As a result, patio furniture lasts much longer, even in coastal environments.

Industrial and Construction Projects

Our powder coating services also extend to general industrial and construction work. We can coat a wide range of materials, including fences, handrails, posts, and roof flashing. No matter the size of the job, we can ensure your parts have a smooth, durable finish that will withstand the elements.

Important Advice from Applied Powdercoat

If you’re bringing in a part for powder coating, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Remove Plastic, Silicone, and Rubber

Items like car rims often come with rubber valve systems or plastic components. Similarly, patio chairs often have plastic slats that should be removed before powder coating. These need to be removed before we can begin the powder coating process, as our ovens reach up to 400 degrees, and these materials will not survive the high temperatures.

Clean the Part Beforehand

As a rule of thumb for all our metal finishing services, the cleaner the part, the better the results. If you bring us a heavily rusted part, we can remove most of the rust through sandblasting. However, if the rust has penetrated deeply, it may cause pitting, which could result in a less smooth finish. While we do our best to clean and restore parts, bringing them in as clean as possible will ensure a better final result.
